The Halls were Decked with Boughs of Holly

Cathi and Ken at the Luvera staircase
Yesterday, Ken and I enjoyed a beautiful drive to Lita & Paul Luvera's exquisite home on the water in Gig Harbor for their festive holiday celebration with friends.  There were definitely boughs and swags of evergreen and holly decorating both the exterior and interior of their beautiful home.

Their decorations are to me the quintessential, perfect decorations for the holidays.  Whenever I see their home at Christmastime, I totally get into the Christmas and holiday spirit.  There are Christmas trees in most of the rooms and decorations everywhere so it is a feast for the eyes.  In addition to sumptuous food buffets in the dining room and on the terrace, there was also live music including a piano, saxophone and a vocalist in the living room.  Even Ken the Party Curmudgeon, loves to go to this party and got into the holiday spirit!

It was wonderful to see Paul up and around greeting their guests and Lita looked absolutely beautiful with her warm, welcoming smile!  It was also fun to connect with friends including Mark Levine, Bonnie & Ron Elgin, Chloe & Lance Mueller, Ellen Bakke, Karan Dannenberg, Bonnie & Bill Schallert, Leena & Mel Sturman, Gary Gayton and scores of others.

Snuffin's is the Luvera's caterer of choice and they do such a spectacular job with this party.  One of my favorite things at the party were tiny glasses of milkshakes topped with a spritz of whipped cream which Snuffin's owner, Sharon Snuffin, called Kahlua Polar Bears and Eggnog Polar Bears.  She shared her secret of making them and I can't wait to serve them for dessert on Christmas Eve!

I am now most definitely in the Christmas spirit and can't wait to put on the Christmas music and start working on the Christmas cards!  Ho!  Ho!  Ho!
